Born to Be Loved

Over the past couple of weeks you may have seen something about the Nashville Statement, or more likely, the response to it. This was a condemning, anti-GLBTQ document written by right wing evangelical leaders, and widely refuted by centrist and liberal Christian thinkers, and while United Methodists are not involved in this statement, many have given excellent responses.

So, since we are honoring Reconciling Sunday this week, we will consider the ways in which our faith refutes hateful and discriminatory thinking about LGBTQ folks.

We are all united in the God who is the very essence of love, and live under the teachings of Christ, who came to show us God's love. We were born to be loved.

Peace be with you,
