The Fall Roundtable “Being A Force For Change” guest speaker will be David Severe. The Roundtable this Sunday evening October 14, 5:00pm-7:00pm, features social change globally for the United Methodist Church and locally for St. Stephen’s. This Roundtable will include information about an important decision to be made at the upcoming February 2019 Annual Conference and in particular about LGBTQ inclusion. Please join us for this important discussion.
David Severe grew up in Perry, Oklahoma, attended Oklahoma A&M and graduated from Oklahoma City University. He earned his Master of Theology degree from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University and was awarded an Honorary Doctors Degree from OCU. He is married to Paula and they have been married for 63-years. They have two children, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Paula is a retired public school teacher.
David served as pastor of many churches in Oklahoma. He was the Director of Programming Ministries and Congregational Development and the Executive Director of the South Central Jurisdiction for the Oklahoma Conference. He was also elected delegate to five General Confer-ences. David is the co-author of "40, A History of the South Central Jurisdiction," and the upcoming publication of his memoir, "Weeding the Garden of Eden."
David and Paula live in Oklahoma City, and are active members at St. Luke's UMC.
